MEMBERS of the public are being invited to a drop-in event where they can learn more about services in the area.

Northwich's Social Prescribing Team are holding the event today (Thursday, March 14) in the foyer at Memorial Court.

Taking place from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, people can drop in for a chat to learn what help and support is available.

Donna Webber, the Social Prescribing Team lead, said: "Many things can affect our health and wellbeing, like isolation, money worries, work, or bereavement. 

"We work to connect people with the right services and organisations which can help."

Joining the team will be:

  • CHAPTER, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people experiencing mental ill-health.
  • Citizens Advice energy team, which has helped people stay warm during the energy crisis.
  • Employment Directions, which offers employment support for adults with physical or mental health conditions.
  • Changing Lives Together's buddying and befriending team, which is working to reduce social isolation and offer volunteering opportunities
  • Dementia Friendly Northwich, which is aiming to create a community that is welcoming and supportive for individuals living with dementia.
