MEMBERS of the public are being invited to learn more activities, groups and services in their community while enjoying a gentle walk.

Following on from its successful Christmas Day walk, Northwich's Social Prescribing Team is holding another event in March.

To coincide with Social Prescribing Day, the team has arranged its 'Big Community Walk' around the town's parks on Thursday, March 14.

On the day, walkers will be able to meet the team and find our about the groups, activities and services Northwich has to offer to meet the practical, social and emotional needs affecting their health and wellbeing.

Donna Webber, the lead social prescriber, said: "Come and join us on the Big (but gentle) Community Walk in and around our parks.

"Meet your Social Prescribing Team and find out what amazing services and community groups Northwich has to offer, while making new friends along the way.

"Everyone is welcome."

The group will meet at the rear steps of the Memorial Court at 9.30am and walk along the Dane up to Vickersway Park before visiting Grozone. The walk is expected to end around 11am.

The route is open to all as it is short, flat and accessible. Booking not required, but anyone wanting more information is asked to contact donna.webber1@nhs.net.
