PRIESTLEY College is working with local employers to build better futures for young people in the local area.

Partnerships forged between the leading sixth form college and industry are creating opportunities not only for students, but for the companies themselves.

“Working together benefits everyone,” said Adam Bird, Head of Marketing and Communications at Priestley College.

“Our students develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workplace while our employer partners get to identify talent, potentially saving them time and money in the recruitment process.”

Among Priestley’s partners are the NHS, engineering and chemical companies, the RAF, games designers, Sci-Tech Daresbury, law firms, creative agencies, charities, volunteer organisations and Warrington Wolves.

One of the most important ways an employer can help is by offering work placements to T-Level students.

One of the major attractions for these qualifications to students is the chance to spend 20% of their time in the workplace.

“This is one of the reasons we value our employer partners so much because the experience they offer is invaluable,” said Adam.

“It does work both ways because the students gain this experience and, in turn, it these relationships have the potential to address the skills shortages.”

Priestley College’s mission is to inspire, challenge and support its students both in learning and in life.

The opportunities provided by employers is one part of that mission that is transforming young lives in Warrington and beyond.

“T-Levels work both for our students and the employers that provide so many amazing opportunities,” said Adam.
