Head teacher of the Year sponsored by Priestley College

Recognising a head teacher who provides outstanding leadership with a clear and compelling vision for success. This award would be going to an inspirational headteacher who has shown exceptional leadership, management, teaching skills and commitment to their school or college over the past year.

Winner: Sara Albiston at Grange Community Nursery and Primary School

OUR head teacher of the year goes above and beyond for the children and staff at her school, working tirelessly to nurture aspirations for the future.

Sara Albiston at Grange Community Nursery and Primary School is fully deserving of one of our ten awards.

We had several nominations for the inspirational headteacher from colleagues and families at the school that mention “the magic [Sara] creates around her” and how “she empowers [everyone] to believe in themselves”.

A third, who is one of Sara’s colleagues at school, said: “Her agenda is raising aspirations for our children and families helping them to be the very best version of themselves.

“She is always there to support all members of staff as well as ensuring that their well-being is a high priority.

“She not only leads her team but cares deeply for her staff and creates a harmonious environment in which the team recognises and values how each staff member is an important piece of the team puzzle of success.

“Her passion for helping the community and providing a school environment that nurtures and foster children’s aspirations for the future is a credit to the families of Winsford.

“She empowers the children and her staff team to believe in themselves and creates magic all around her.

“Without her leadership and forward thinking, planning and creativity our families would continue to struggle.”
