AN adored family-run bakery has teased customers as to the potential of opening a store in Northwich.

Based in Wigan, Galloways Bakers was founded in 1971 by Ronald and Patricia Galloway.

Originally trading as The Pie Shop, it specialised, as the name implied, in producing the finest pies and pasties in the area, hot and ready to eat, using only quality ingredients.

Expansion since then has seen the firm open 23 branches across the North West.

However, could the business be expanding further?

Earlier this month, Galloways posted on its social media pages stating that it is always on the look-out for new store locations to expand its horizons.

Customers were urged to submit suggestions in the comments, with Northwich among the suggestions.

Thank you for all your location suggestions, there’s some great ideas so keep your eyes peeled 👀

In response, Galloways created a graphic with some of the suggestions on and said: “Thank you for all your location suggestions.

“There are some great ideas so keep your eyes peeled.

“Please do not be knocking down your sheds or kicking your neighbours out though.”

The Galloways website states: “Based in Wigan, Galloways Bakers have been making quality pies, pasties, confectionery, breakfasts and filled rolls since 1971.

“Our team of confectioners continue to work every year to come up with tempting seasonal delights, which will tantalise your taste buds all year round and especially on Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

“We make freshly filled rolls on site with a variety of fillings every day.

“If you are unable to find one already made that you would prefer, our expert bakers will also make a roll with your choice of filling to order.

“All of our pies, pasties and sausage rolls are freshly baked and available daily, in every one of our 23 shops across the North West.”
