FAMILIES are being invited to a special fundraising concert to help children and adults living with sight loss.

Guide Dogs for the Blind is holding its annual Christmas Wishes Concert at Manchester Cathedral next month.

Countdown’s Susie Dent will be swapping Dictionary Corner for hosting duties on the night, with actor and presenter Martin Clunes also making a special appearance.

The Doc Martin star will be joining other celebrity guests in telling inspiring stories and giving festive readings.

Singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson will be performing, while the audience can also sing along to their favourite carols and listen to more live music from twin sopranos Classical Reflection.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “The Guide Dogs national events team have been working hard to make this year’s Christmas Wishes Concert the most heart-warming festive celebration yet.

“This wonderful night of yuletide cheer will be one of the go-to events of the Christmas season.”

Tickets for general admission to the event, held on December 5, will cost £24 and are available from the Eventbrite website: bit.ly/3Rh0fbf

Alternatively, people preferring to watch the concert from the comfort of their own homes will be able to do so by paying a donation of £12 for virtual access.

All donations will go towards the aim of helping children and adults living with sight loss so they can live the lives they choose unimpeded.
