A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car.
Dogs, drones and a helicopter were used to chase down a 14-year-old boy who is alleged to have stolen a Vauxhall Corsa.
The boy was eventually found hiding under another vehicle, on Holcroft Drive in Sandiway, in the early hours by police dog, Reggie.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 12am on Tuesday, October 31, officers sighted a suspected stolen white Vauxhall Corsa at the Shell petrol station in Sandiway.
“A male was seen making off from the vehicle on foot traveling towards Blakemere.
“Following a search of the area, a 14-year-old boy from Northwich was located hiding under a car on Holdcroft Drive.
“The teenager was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
A spokesperson for Cheshire’s dog unit added: “PD Reggie was deployed to a de-camp from a stolen vehicle in Northwich in the early hours.
“National Police Air Service and the drone unit were deployed and searching.
“Reggie won the race and found the driver hiding under a car!”
