A NEW restaurant and bar set to open in Northwich is offering diners the chance to ‘shimmy with a belly dancer’.

La Turka Bistro already has successful restaurants in Manchester and Rawtenstall, offering a wide selection of Turkish specialities and classic Mediterranean dishes.

The chain's owners have now applied to Cheshire West and Chester Council for a licence for a new eatery at 469 Manchester Road in Lostock Gralam, which was formerly an Indian restaurant, Jathra.

The new venue will combine restaurant, wine and cocktail bar, with live music and entertainment in the evening, which the applicant states will include belly dancers.

La Turka Northwich’s website is already up and running and suggests a November opening date for the new venture.

It also says the venue will be open for brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks, and may be open as late as 12.30am during the week, and 1.30am at weekends.

It adds: “Building on the success of our establishment in Rawtenstall, La Turka Bistro is thrilled to announce La Turka Northwich.

“Embracing the rich tapestry of Mediterranean and Turkish dishes, our culinary experts bring a renewed zest with delectable grilled delicacies, inviting mezze selections, and an extensive range of homemade delights, including our signature pizzas and cocktails.

“We have everything covered – brunch, lunch, and evening meals, or maybe a shimmy with a belly dancer.”
