POLICE are planning to ask residents of a Middlewich road how they can tackle nuisance behaviour in the area.

Residents in Kestrel Close are plagued by youngsters playing football in front of their houses but police say the green they play on is for public use.

PCSO Roger Need, from Middlewich CAT team, said: "The footballs are going on people's drives and hitting their cars and fences.

"It's not serious but it is a quality of life issue for the residents.

"We are also aware that kids live on the estate who use the park and we would like to find a happy compromise."

Complaints to the CAT team about the issue have increased over recent weeks and police are determined to find a solution.

PCSO Need said: "Over the next few weeks we are looking to do a consultation with the locals to see how bad the problems are.

"We also plan to work with Congleton Borough Council to see if there is any solution to tackle anti-social behaviour and keep the green area for public use at the same time."
