Stretton Young Farmers celebrate with birthday tractor run

The event was organised by Stretton Young Farmers Club to mark the group turning 80 years old.

Around 100 tractors of all ages, shapes, and sizes turned out for the event, which started at the Antrobus Arms pub on Northwich Road at 12.15pm on Sunday, February 12.

The tractors set off in convoy, heading first southwest towards Great Budworth, then turning north towards Arley and Appleton Thorn.

They then turned west along the B5356 towards Stretton, then south along the A559 to Lower Whitley, Little Leigh, the finally back towards Antrobus.

The whole route took around two hours.

A fundraising page has been created for the event, with all money will be split between Stretton Young Farmers Club and the Multiple System Atrophy Trust – which supports people affected by the disease which is a progressive neurological disorder that affects adults men and women.

The drivers parked up their machines at the Antrobus Arms after the run, where visitors were welcome to get a closer look.

A spokesman for the club posted on Facebook: “Today has been incredible. What a way to celebrate Stretton Young Farmer’s Club turning 80.

“Too many tractors to count, and loads of money raised for the Multiple System Atrophy Trust.”
