A VANDALISED sign could be replaced when a new council takes over.
Davenham Parish Council is looking into replacing or repairing the Welcome to Davenham' sign in Kingsmead, which has been painted over and bent back by yobs.
Parish clerk Jo O'Donoghue told councillors a replacement could cost £470.
Clr Arthur Wood said the sign would probably be replaced when Vale Royal Borough Council and Cheshire County Council were replaced by the unitary Cheshire West and Cheshire council.
He said: "It's all going to change at great public expense because they're not going to want it to say Vale Royal' in 18 months time."
