NORTHWICH racer Ian Loggie missed out on the Intelligent Money British GT Championship title at the weekend.

Loggie and his Ram Racing AMG GT3 Mercedes went into the final round at Donington Park with a great chance of winning the overall title, being only six points off the leader.

In the qualifying event on Saturday, Loggie and teammate Yelmer Buurman put their car in a great fourth position for the long two-hour race the next day.

After a really wet and miserable practice on race day, it was tough to decide on the most suitable tyres and the weather did not look like clearing up anytime soon.

As the race started, the beautiful-looking pink Mercedes kept its place as the field blasted round the Derbyshire circuit in sketchy conditions.

Even with the mandatory pit stops Loggie kept up a great pace throughout and managed to get the car up to second, within touching distance of the title.

But unfortunately their title rivals were also highly placed and finished well.

Loggie finished the race in second but it was not quite enough as the leaders gained points too.

Nevertheless, it was a great moment for the team and no doubt they will be back stronger next season.
