FIREFIGHTERS were sent out to the M56 on Thursday night where a Vauxhall Corsa had burst into flames.
Three fire engines attended the scene on the eastbound side of the carriageway, near Stretton at junction 10, at 8.15pm.
The driver and passengers had been able to escape the car before fire crews arrived.
Firefighters from Lymm, Stockton Heath and Birchwood tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
They were at the scene for half an hour before handing the incident over to Highways England.
