FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a car fire in Delamere this morning, Wednesday.

One fire engine from Tarporley Fire Station was dispatched to a car park on Chester Road shortly after 11.15am.

On arrival the crew found the hatchback car to be well alight.

A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The car was then damped down to make it safe.

A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor temperatures.

Firefighters were in attendance for around 40 minutes.
