A SCHOOLBOY from Cuddington will be making his TV debut this weekend on a national talent show.

Eight-year-old Will Davies will join his dance partner nine-year-old Lexy Dawbarn, from Higher Walton in Warrington, on the ITV programme ‘Little Big Shots’ this Sunday, May 27.

The pair have been active dancers ever since they two-years-old, first performing together with a larger dance group at a show in Glasgow around 18 months ago.

Unlike existing talent shows on television, the programme has no judges, winners or losers. Instead, children will simply showcase their special talent and then speak about their skill or hobby with the show’s host, Dawn French.

Looking ahead to the show, Will, from Sandiway Primary School, and Lexy, from Darsbury Primary School, said they were both ‘nervous but very excited’.

The children narrowly missed a place in the previous series of the show, but this allowed plenty of practice time to come up with a brilliant routine.

Will’s mum, Heidi, said: “It was disappointing for them to miss out on last series, but we were encouraged to put them forward for the following one and they absolutely loved it.

“I’m super proud of what they have achieved. The kids love dancing together and they couldn’t wait to show their moves to the whole country.”

Lexy’s mum, Tanya, said: “They were wonderful up on the stage and worked really well together as a team.

“Dawn was really lovely with the kids too when they spoke and the whole programme set-up really took the pressure off them knowing they could just dance their little hearts out.”

Both families have been to film scenes for the show in London in November and are excited to see the finished show this weekend.

To celebrate, the family plan to have a small gathering to watch the episode live.

If you want to catch them in action, the pair will be appearing on TV screens at 7pm on Sunday, May 27.
