Last summer’s 13-year-old Carnival Queen, Phoebe Little, will be stepping aside for a new girl to take on the role.
Elizabeth Pimblatt, a 16-year-old pupil at Weaverham High School, will be wearing the Carnival crown at the annual event, set to take place in Verdin Park on Saturday, July 7.
The Barnton teenager has hobbies that include swimming, going shopping with her friends and reading historical novels.
In 2006, Elizabeth was a train bearer for 13-year-old Samantha Mainwaring.
The Queen from Weaverham gave Elizabeth, then aged four, a white teddy bear that she held and walked around the event with all day, according to her mother Pauline.
She has nostalgically kept the present for more than 10 year and will be walking around with it again this year.
