POLICE have moved to reassure families after a man allegedly followed a 10-year-old girl in Kingsmead.

Officers were made aware of the incident in Regency Way on Tuesday, November 28, and are now moving to ease parents’ fears.

A spokesman at Cheshire Police said: “Police were called at 9.15am on Tuesday, November 28, to reports of a man acting suspiciously in Regency Way.

“Officers attended and spoke to the victim after the man reportedly followed her. He didn’t make an attempt to grab her but did try to get her attention.

“Thankfully there have been no further incidents reported since. If anyone does have any information please contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 161 of November 28.”

Kingsmead Primary School had sent out letters to parents, urging families to stay vigilant following the incident.

Headteacher Catriona Stewart told the Guardian that the school had reported the incident to police, and no further incidents have taken place.
