FIREFIGHTERS were called out to rescue a 12-month-old calf that had got stuck in a canal in Anderton.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue was called out to the incident at 1am today, October 6, after the calf had fallen into the Trent and Mersey Canal, near Marbury Lane.
One fire engine from Northwich attended the incident, along with the rope rescue unit and a supporting fire enging from Lymm, and the animal rescue unit from Bollington.
Two firefighters wearing swift water gear went into the canal to get the calf out.
