A MAN has been arrested and another is in hospital following an attack in Northwich town centre, near to Barons Quay.
Police and paramedics were sent to Leicester Street today at 10.42am and police are still on the scene.
It was following a alleged attack on a man who had been injured and has now been taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At 10.42am on Wednesday, August 23, police were called to Barons Quay in Leicester Street in Northwich following reports of an injured man.
"It’s believed the man had been in an altercation with others at a flat in Witton Street and left the address. He has been taken to hospital to be assessed.
"Officers investigating the incident arrested a 36-year-old man nearby. Officers are currently in the area providing reassurance. There is no cause for concern for those using the town centre and there is no disruption to businesses."
