WINSFORD’S fate has all but been sealed in the South and Mid Cheshire League’s top-flight following a fourth successive whitewash.
Their latest 8-0 reverse, this time at Nantwich Farmers, leaves them adrift at the bottom of Division One.
In the absence of Alex Lerczak, who is recovering from an injury, their quartet was made up of Chris Knight, Simon Nuttall, Mark Abbiss and Mike *.
Winsford B returned to winning ways in Division Three by beating Cuddington B at Knights Grange.
Chris Mayoh, Damian Cookson, Martin Stoilov and Chris Mundie were on court for a 5-3 success that allows them to draw level on points with third-placed Holmes Chapel A.
Winsford C extended an unbeaten sequence to three matches in Division Four when they won 7½-½ away to Nantwich E.
Steve McCormack, Mike Johnston, Bill Lawrie and Steve Harris kept alive their side’s hopes of avoiding relegation as a result.
Meanwhile a depleted Winsford D, including two new recruits, went down 8-0 at home to Congleton E in Division Five.
The club’s mixed team continued their run of good form by sharing the spoils with Nantwich B at Knights Grange.
Nuttall and Mayoh were joined by Julia Kimpton and Jackie Penn for a 4-4 draw that keeps them in mid-table.
