POLICE have stepped up their search for a man from Northwich who disappeared two weeks ago.

Michael Price, 40, from Winnington, was last seen on the morning of Saturday April 15 in Shakespeare Close, Rudheath and the adjacent rural area towards the Danefields estate.

He is described as approximately 6'1", tall of slim build with green eyes and short brown greying hair.

He was last seen wearing a green Henry Lloyd parka style top, blue jeans and blue trainers.

Chief Inspector Simon Meegan, who is co-ordinating the search said: "As we approach the two week anniversary of Michael's disappearance I would like people to take a few minutes out and think back to what they were doing on April 15.

"Were you out in the Northwich area, could you have seen Michael?

"I'm particularly keen to hear from anyone who was out in the Rudheath area and the rural area adjacent to the river Dane.

"The area is popular with dog walkers and joggers, and I believe that there may be people who were in the area around the time Michael disappeared who may be able to help with the investigation".

As part of on-going enquiries to locate Michael officers are working closely with a number of support agencies, including the National Police Air Support unit, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Underwater Search.

The team is being supported by volunteers from Cheshire Search and Rescue and Staffordshire Search and Rescue.

Whilst the search continues, local residents are being urged to check their sheds and outbuildings in the hope that Michael may have sought shelter, as the last few nights have been particularly cold, and could be found.

Chief Inspector Meegan added: "Michael's family have now spent nearly two weeks agonising over his disappearance and anxiously waiting for news of his whereabouts and I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact us on 101".

If you have any information on Michael's whereabouts call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 303 of April 16, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
