MUMS from a fitness group are staging a Back to the 80s family fundraiser at Hartford Golf Club in aid of the Karole Woodthorpe appeal to fund cancer treatment for the mother-of-three.

A justgiving page has raised almost £60,000 towards the £200,000 needed to fund cancer treatment in Germany for Karole, from Kingsmead.

Karole was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, and the appeal is aimed at raising funds for immunotherapy treatment.

If anyone would like to support the fundraising appeal they can do so at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Karole-Woodthorpe

Children and adults are included in the fundraiser on Friday, May 12, which begins with a children's disco at 6pm followed by 80s tunes from 8pm.

Tickets are £10 or £25 for a family - any number of children - and include food, and there will be a raffle on the evening, which is being organised by Karen Rogers from Fitmums Hartford.

Karen said: “This family-friendly event with an 80s disco provides a nostalgic trip back to this fabulous decade, playing all your favourite 80s hits.

“Karole’s appeal has touched the hearts of many of local mums and we wanted to return to a time when we were all younger and a bit more carefree.

“Grab your friends, leg-warmers, ra-ra skirts and fingerless gloves and join the fun.”
