A BARNTON man who was crushed by a campervan has died.

Chris Hatton has been fighting for his life after being airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital following the incident at on the morning of Tuesday, April 11.

Mr Hatton had been working on a campervan at an address in Alamein Road when it fell on his chest.

A postman found him and informed Mr Hatton’s neighbour, who then called the emergency services.

Firefighters freed Mr Hatton and then carried out first aid, before he was passed over to paramedics.

He has remained in a critical condition ever since. Cheshire Police confirmed he died on Friday, April 21 while in hospital.

Tributes have been pouring in for Mr Hatton – who is widely known as ‘Flash’ – and his family on Facebook.

Kate Johnson Dunn said: “Such sad news. A fantastic man and one of life's true characters. RIP Flash.

“Lots of love to all of your family.”

Josh Adamson said: “The world has lost an amazing man, RIP Flash.”

Paige-Louise Hewitt said: “Totally devastated that another top man has been taken away from us all again. RIP Chris Flash Hatton we will never forget you.”

Tom Bailey said he will ‘raise a glass to one of the nicest blokes around’.

“Rest in peace big man,” he said.

Jonathan Mills said Mr Hatton offered some kind words when he was dealing with the loss of a family member earlier this month.

He said: “I'm so very sorry to hear this. Chris was a smashing bloke. I didn't really know him that well as he was a friend of my dad’s and my uncle Bob’s.

“I was only talking to Chris two weeks ago in Owley Wood Club. Sadly my uncle Bob had passed away that week and your dad said some kind words to me about Bob.

“I guess he's up there now having a pint with him. RIP Chris.”
