WINSFORD Saxons, the defending champions, have established a five-point lead at the Crewe and District League summit after extending a winning sequence to five matches.
A 3-1 win at Curshaws in midweek, when Perry Bircumshaw, James Cain and Charlie Hatton were on target, sent them clear of closest-rivals Sandbach Town.
They followed that with a single-goal success at Tarvin last Saturday.
Following a date with in-form Over 3 Grange – unbeaten in their previous five games – tonight, they are then due at Sandbach next Wednesday.
The teams played out a thrilling 4-4 draw, a contest Saxons had led 4-1 at the interval, in the return game back in October.
