RESIDENTS will assemble in Northwich for the town’s first Comic Con next week.

TTC Toy Fairs, which also hosts Nanocon in Nantwich, will bring the event to Northwich Memorial Court on Saturday, April 1, from 10am to 4pm.

Guests can expect an array of attractions throughout the day.

Chris Bunn – the first ever Stormtrooper – is due to make an appearance and he will be joined by the East Midlands Garrison, a Star Wars costuming group with members from all over the UK.

There will be plenty more photo opportunities with characters such as including Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman, Batman and many more.

Cosplayers will also compete for prizes for the best costumes.

A Pokéstop will be loaded throughout the day to ensure keen Pokémon hunters will have lots of critters to catch.

A number of signing guests have been confirmed so far, including James Mackenzie from (CBBC’s Raven), Ross O’Hennessy (Game of Thrones) and Zara Pythian (Dr Strange).

Ian Richardson, a comic artist whose works includes 2000AD and macabre author A.S. Chambers will also be on-hand.

Guests will also be taking part in unique talks throughout the day.

There will be a number of stalls selling action figures, comics, artwork, retro games, books, Lego, TV memorabilia, collectables, handmade goods and more.

Steve Howard, organiser, said: “This is going to be the first time Northwich has had an event like this with displays that will be a first for most people.

“We are looking to make it at an annual event for both fans and families alike and a gateway for visitors into the Comic Con World, which is fantastic fun.

“We have tried to put together the best possible event with something for everyone at an affordable price and hopefully visitors will enjoy the day.”
