BLAKEMERE Village and Cheshire Outdoors have once again joined forces to offer families the chance to enjoy a magical Christmas woodland experience.

An alternative to the traditional Christmas pantomime, the event, which was launched at Blakemere Village in the run-up to Christmas last year, is a theatrical experience for all the family and is set in the picturesque Blakemere Wood.

The adventure begins at the magical gates to the enchanted forest where the head elf entrusts the visiting children with a very important mission – to deliver their Christmas letters to Father Christmas for sorting.

That marks the start of an adventure in which the audience meets a range of colourful characters.

Along the way these various woodland creatures assist with the quest as well as dealing with a character who is not quite so helpful.

“The whole experience is just magical,” said Steve Birchall, the head of Cheshire Outdoors and one of the founders behind the launch of the first Christmas Woodland Experience last year.

“We describe the event as a magical Christmas adventure because we saw the impact it had on the children who attended our first Christmas show.

“They just loved the whole experience and their faces said it all.

“But the other important aspect of a project like this, is one of value for money. That’s why we ensure that our visitors have a choice of experiences and adventures.

“As well as seeing Santa the ticket price includes a whole host of fun activities including meeting Snowy Owl for a wander through the woods, an opportunity to skate on our outdoor artificial skating rink after which the children can then craft a wooden Christmas tree in our giant Tepee.

“Families who come along can take a ride on the model steam railway and enjoy fairground rides before paying a visit to Snowy Owl’s friends in the aviaries.

“All of this fun is included in the price of the ticket and the whole experience lasts for around three hours.”

The event is on every weekend from Saturday, December 3 to Sunday, December 18. For further details visit christmaswoodland.co.uk
