AN APPEAL has been launched following an arson attack in Weaverham.

The incident is believed to have taken place at an address in Northwich Road on Saturday, August 20.

Three fire engines, from Northwich, Winsford and Stockton Heath, attended the scene just after 11.30am to find the two sheds ‘well alight’.

Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus, and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “One casualty was suffering from smoke inhalation and was handed in to the care of the paramedics.”

Police officers are now appealing for the public’s help following the arson attack.

Officers say they believe the incident happened between 11.20am and 11.40am.

A police spokesman said: “The offenders gained entry to the garden of the home through a park at the back of the property and set the shed alight, which also led to the shed at the property next door catching fire.

“The fire caused significant damage to the equipment inside the sheds.”
