LIVE music, a record breaking attempt and a woodland fun run are among the attractions at a family festival on Saturday, April 30.

Children's charity The Joshua Tree has organised #JOSHFEST to celebrate its 10th birthday at Marbury Country Park.

Sara Wheater, from The Joshua Tree, said: “There’s plenty for families to get involved with at #JOSHFEST – whether they take on the 2.5k silly socks fun run, have a go at slacklining or relax and enjoy the live music sessions with a picnic or visit our pop up tearooms and handmade trader stalls – there’s something for everyone at our 10th Birthday event.”

The festival starts at 10am with live music to get participants in the mood for the 2.5km Silly Socks Fun Run, which starts at 11am.

At 12.45pm 16-year-old Josh Hill, whose own battle with leukaemia when he was six inspired his mum and dad Lynda and David to set up The Joshua Tree, is braving a head shave along with fellow fundraisers.

There will be live music throughout the day, including a performance by Joshua Tree charity patron and BBC Radio DJ Mark Radcliffe with his Galleon Blast Band on The Rum.

Other acts include Big Soul, Dirty Vertebrae, Stepping Lane, Narn, Kojo, Lucy Rhead and Josh Whittaker.

The festival also includes slacklining workshops and craft stalls as well as family forest activities in The Activity Zone sponsored by Active Cheshire.

This will be open to children of all ages with an entry fee of £2.50 for a wristband available at the information point.

The Joshua Tree is also attempting to break the record for the number of 'Joshuas' in one place at an event, and all Joshuas who attend will receive a free activity wristband and certificate for taking part.
