TALENTED young ballet dancers have been congratulated on their outstanding examination results.

The girls attend Kinder-Berry School of Dance in Northwich, and achieved top marks in their Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams just before Christmas.

The dance school is run by principal Wanda Kinder-Berry, from Northwich, alongside IDTA qualified dance teacher Colette Holt from Handforth.

“We would like to congratulate our students on their great exam results – well done girls,” said Colette, who is due to play a greater role in the running of the school.

In the Grade 7 exams 80 per cent of the girls achieved distinctions, and 20 per cent merits.

Every girl achieved a distinction in their Grade 8 exams, and 90 per cent scored a merit and 10 per cent a pass in the Intermediate Foundation exam.

In the Primary exams 40 per cent earned a distinction, and 60 per cent a merit.

“We’re planning to build up the school over the next two years, and will be starting new classes,” said Colette.

“We started theatre craft four weeks ago, and will be starting baby ballet next week.”

Wanda Kinder-Berry trained at the Royal Ballet School, and toured with the Royal Ballet and Danish Royal Ballet.

“We’ve had amazing exam results, with students going on to the Royal Ballet, Laban, Rambert, Ballet West and other major colleges,” said Wanda.

Colette trained in ballet, tap, modern jazz, theatre craft, contemporary and freestyle to advanced levels from the age of two at Cardwell Theatre School in Altrincham.

From there she went to Phil Winston’s Theatreworks Dance College in Blackpool to study for a diploma in dance and performing arts.

Colette danced for Pele Productions at the Lowry Theatre in Robin Hood, was a chorus member in 42nd Street and worked at the Oldham Coliseum and Channel Theatre Company.

She performed with the English Youth Ballet in The Nutcracker, and in 2009 secured a job with Carnival Cruise Lines as a dancer, before moving to Princess Cruise Lines in 2011.

The dance school is at Dave’s Gym Fitness Centre, and for more details ring Colette on 07432 417895.
