INDEPENDENCE Day was celebrated in Antrobus on Saturday when an annual event took on an American theme.
Antrobus Rose Queen Fete turned into Antrobus Independence Day this year as it fell on July 4.
Throngs of visitors and villagers watched Amelia Bailey, 11, being crowned rose queen and enjoyed entertainment from the Co-operative Funeralcare Band North West, Impulse Dancers Northwich, Hartford School of Gymnastics, Antrobus St Mark' s School choir and Vikings Wheelchair Basketball.
Games included a wheelbarrow race, sack race and sprinting, alongside 'Yanks on Planks' and a slippery pole.
Fete-goers also enjoyed a variety of traditional stalls and refreshments, including a 'Made in Antrobus' marquee celebrating the produce villagers have on their doorstep.
