AFTER illustrating several books local artist Rebecca Yoxall is in demand across the north west for her painting classes and products.

Her classes are over-subscribed, and she is currently working on several commissioned paintings.

Rebecca has found time to offer her watercolour and soft furnishing skills close to home as part of the Rudheath and Witton Together-funded project Art Seed.

“Art is such a pleasure to me, and from teaching I know how much joy it brings to other people’s lives too,” she said.

“Lots of people are a bit afraid of using paint, and in my workshops I show people that it’s not that scary really. Most of us love to paint as children, and as adults we can rekindle that enthusiasm.”

Over the next six months a range of inspiring art and photography activities will be offered to local residents by Rudheath-based artists group Working Title Artists Collective, which aims to bring “unusual art to unusual places.”

Beth Barlow from Rudheath, from Working Titles Artists Collectives, said: “People who take part in our projects in Winsford have said art has given them their life back.

“One parent told me they one of our projects was the best thing they had ever done.

“I see the great effects art has every working day and want to offer that to my own community for once.”

“We have excellent professional artists living in Rudheath and Witton giving us their time for the project.

“Art Seed gives residents the chance to give creativity a go for free without having to travel miles or pay for personal tuition. People can come to one or two events they fancy or join us for all of them.”

Art Seed projects include photography and art, such as beginner’s watercolour.
