FIVE middle leaders from Sir John Deane’s College have been recognised for completing an Excellence in Leadership programme.
Chris Atherton (Head of English and Modern Foreign Languages), Lisa Berry (Head of Business and Computing), Rachel Berry (Head of Mathematics), Tony Logan (Head of Social Sciences) and Jenny Thorpe (Head of Geography and PE) took part in the specially- designed programme.
The programme involved developing their leadership skills through self-reflection and extensive reading to enhance their practice, and culminated in a formal presentation to a panel of senior leaders.
SJD principal Kerry Kirkwood said: “The professionals leading the programme were very impressed with Chris, Lisa, Rachel, Tony and Jenny and commented that the group were of the highest calibre of individuals.
"Sir John Deane’s will be further enhanced as a place for teachers and students to grow and learn.”
