FIREFIGHTERS tackled a grass fire this afternoon on a railway embankment in Chester Road, Northwich.
A caution for reduced speed was in place for trains using the Manchester to Crewe line, and Network Rail attended the incident.
A fire engine from Northwich attended the fire at 1.30pm, and crews used hand beaters and water to put out the smouldering grass.
Firefighters left the scene at 3.15pm.
