NATWEST in Winsford is urging customers to donate money in store for a UK cancer charity.

The Natwest branch at Winsford Cross Shopping Centre has been fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support since re-opening following refurbishment work last month.

NatWest and the Royal Bank of Scotland will also be taking part in the Great Daffodil Appeal for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity in the coming weeks.

Branch manager, David Platts, said: “As the branch manager I was able to choose which charity we wanted to promote on the day so each branch may have a different one when they have their refurbishment opening day

“I chose the Macmillan Cancer Support charity as a number of our staff and customers can associate with it in various ways and it is also a national charity which we are proud to support.

“We are only collecting from those customers who call into the branch and wish to contribute.”

The bank’s recent refurbishment has seen the branch scrap the traditional counter so they can provide a ‘more personal service’ to their customers.

The branch has also installed free Wi-Fi and iPads.

Mr Platts added: “The traditional counter has been removed so that my staff and I can now stand side-by-side with customers and have more meaningful conversations with them about their banking needs."

Winsford Natwest will cease fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, March 13.
