A RECORD number of diners enjoyed a pensioners' party in Winnington thanks to a Northwich group.
The Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal welcomed 84 pensioners to their annual event at Winnington Park Recreation Club.
They were treated to a meal, glass of wine and live music from Freeway.
Peter Chapman, one of the organisers of the event, said: "A lot of work by a lot of people goes into making this event a success.
"The Rotary motto says ‘We’re for Communities’ and this event provides an opportunity for us do exactly that, by giving elderly people the chance to get out and meet people, be entertained and have a good time."
Peter Hall, fellow organiser, said: "Louise from Mid Cheshire Catering put on an excellent meal.
"Everyone appeared to enjoy the event and James and Alan from local band Freeway had the guests dancing in the aisles."
Financial support was provided by Cllr Keith Musgrave and transport by the Petty Pool Trust and Cransley School.
The Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal also wanted to thank the volunteers who served the meals and Graham Evans MP and town mayor Cllr Alison Gerrard who attended to show their support.
