A TEENAGER from Northwich became an overnight twitter celebrity when he fell asleep in the back of a taxi and found himself watching Take Me Out in the driver’s living room.

Mike Allison, 18, went to Manchester for a night out with friends from Northwich and when his pals were dropped off in the town, they did not realise that Mike was still fast asleep in the back.

Mike woke up as the driver was finishing his shift and going into his house in Stretford.

After making himself known to the driver, he was eventually invited inside for a brew and to watch Take Me Out.

Mike said: “I woke up in Stretford around 4.30am and I thought one of my drinks had been spiked and I’d been kidnapped or something.

“The taxi driver said I should come into his house as it was cold outside. I really didn’t think it was a good idea but still being drunk I thought it was still quite funny.

“He offered me a brew and some food and I stayed there for about an hour watching Take Me Out.”

While warming in the taxi drivers house in Stretford, Mike decided to share the story of his night with his followers on Twitter.

He tweeted: “Fell asleep in the taxi and none (sic) woke me up. Now I'm back at the taxi man's house in Stretford watching take me out.”

After the teenager tweeted about where he had ended up, he quickly became the hot topic on the social media site with more than 27,000 retweets and more than 32,000 favourites.

Mike added: “It was crazy; I really didn’t expect it would blow up like that.

“I was getting thousands of retweets from people in Birmingham and London and all over and I’ve ended up with more than 1,000 new followers.”
