A WARNING has been issued by police after a metal-tipped arrow was shot into a Castle garden.
Officers say the consequences could be serious for both the archer and anyone shot after the incident, which happened in Riverside Park on July 20.
PCSO Andy Taylor, officer for Greenbank and Castle, said: “A crossbow is classed as a firearm so there are quite serious consequences for anyone caught with one.
“It could cause serious injuries – it could kill you with the metal tip on it.”
A Riverside Park resident heard a noise in his back garden and saw the arrow when he went to investigate.
PCSO Taylor said: “There’s a family with kids next door and he was worried that it could have hit them.”
Anyone with any information about the incident should ring Cheshire Police on 101.
