FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a house in Sandiway.

Crews from Northwich and Winsford were called to a loft fire in Hadrian Way at 12.15pm today, Thursday.

They used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and two covering jets to extinguish the flames and isolate the gas and electricity.

They are currently damping down and cutting away affected facia boards at roof level and removing roof tiles.

Yes, if we have a storm the wind might get underneath the exposed rafters and case the whole shooting match to become airborne.


As well as causing yet more damage to the property this could present a hazard to innocent sightseers in the street below.

I suggest you enclose the whole house in a tarp (tarpaulin) to keep out the wind.
