VILLAGERS with any concerns over the oil recovery plans are being invited to have their say at next month’s annual assembly of Lach Dennis Parish Council.

The council has sent a letter to residents, stating it is not happy with the proposed routing of the tankers, which it said would equate to six an hour – based on a 10-hour working day – travelling through the village.

The letter said the proposed tanker route would be through Lach Dennis from Back Lane, turning right on to Hulme Lane, continuing on to Common Lane, before turning right on to Holmes Chapel Road and Penny’s Lane to the A556.

“Naturally, the parish councillors voiced their opinions and grave concerns on your behalf, and we suggested alternative routes,” said the letter.

“This project not only affects us as residents, but neighbouring parishes, who are well aware of these plans.

“The parish council will be holding its usual annual assembly in early July on a date yet to be confirmed.

“You are most welcome to join us, when we shall give all the latest updates on this and other matters, and where you may raise any concerns you have that we can support you with.”
