COUNCILLORS are being urged to ask for debate on a Moulton planning application.

Richborough Estates has applied to change one of the conditions laid down by the planning inspector who gave permission to built 148 houses on land off Barnside Way.

Condition 27 stresses that there should be no piling carried out as part of site excavation or any other part of the development.

Moulton Parish Council has written to Cheshire West and Chester Council’s (CWAC) planning department to object to the application.

The letter states: “Piling can take many forms all of which are acknowledged to have the potential to cause damage or stress to other nearby properties, of which there are many, in the vicinity.

“We ask that the inspector’s clear guideline is adhered to – to not do so would surely raise serious questions about the whole planning process.

“The applicant exercised its right to appeal your earlier refusal and won the case.

“To then seek to obtain ‘waivers’ to the inspector’s considered judgement does not appear to us to be an appropriate course of action. “ Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning officers are expected to make the decision but Moulton’s parish councillors are appealing for it to instead be made by the planning committee.

Clr Arthur Wood said: “We should lean on our ward councillors to get this to committee.”

The council agreed to write to its CWAC councillors, Clrs Helen Weltman, Gaynor Sinar and Elton Watson.
