  • "First curse the Romans for building such straight roads. Then consider why speeds are so high on this road; it's because drivers perceive it as "safe" because it's so straight and looks easy to drive. One environment-friendly solution to this is to make it feel *less* safe by disrupting sight lines, using speed bumps and rumble strips, and narrowing lanes. The last thing we need is more bl***y traffic lights and roundabouts. However the total lack of imagination or foresight in CWAC makes any of this highly unlikely."
