A STEAM locomotive worth £4,000 has been stolen from premises in Lostock Gralam.

The green 5in gauge model, which has an orange stripe and weighs 500kg, was taken from a secure garage in Manchester Road some time between February 22 and March 28.

It has the number 7482 on a brass plate on the side of the bunker and the boiler code N3310029.

PC Claire Murgatroyd, from Northwich Police, said: “A vehicle would have been needed and it would have taken more than one person to remove this from a secure garage.

“There are no signs of forced entry and it’s a bit of a mystery where this has gone.”

Anyone with any information should ring Cheshire Police on 101.
