Double burglary charge after homeowner apprehends intruder

POLICE arrested a local man after he was caught in a house he had broken into by the home’s owner.

The 32-year-old from Northwich was apprehended by the owner of a house in Kingsway on Thursday night, March 20.

Police were called and the man was arrested.

He was charged with burglary for the offence in Kingsway, and a second count of burglary relating to a shed break-in earlier the same night.

After appearing before Chester Magistrates on Saturday, he is due before Chester Crown Court April 1.
