WASHING cars will help Northwich youngsters improve their community on Friday, March 28.

The car wash will take place in Rudheath with young people from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Prince’s Trust Team (PTT).

They will be washing and polishing cars from 10am to 3pm at Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s headquarters at Gadbrook Park.

Money raised will be spent on taking a group from Age UK for a day out and will also go towards phase two of work on the Greenbank Community Hub, supported by Weaver Vale Housing Trust.

The PTT has already created a community garden at the Hub, a former bike shop.

Sam Rogers, Northwich PTT assistant team leader, said: “We hope as many people as possible will bring their cars along to Gadbrook Park to be washed.

“All donations are welcome to help raise money for these worthy causes as we focus on team work within the community supporting our local neighbourhoods.”

Tamsen Lesko, PTT project co-ordinator, said: “The PTT programme is designed to help develop young people’s skills and confidence through practical community projects and work experience.

“For the young people to organise and carry out events like this car wash not only raises funds for their local community, it also helps them attain the aims of the programme.”
