TWO houses were flooded in Davenham after a culvert backed up.
Around 800,000 litres of water were pumped away by fire crews after the flood, in Hartford Road.
One fire engine was at the scene and its crew spent seven hours there using a main pump with four deliveries diverting about 4,000 litres of water a minute into surface water drains.
United Utilities and the Highways Agency also attended.
The incident happened at 7.10pm on December 23.
