CREWE’S Bob Trotter took to the wheel of his two litre Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV to record the fastest lap in his class during Oulton Park’s Gold Cup at the weekend.
Trotter lay fifth in his class championship ahead of the 70s road sport race on Oulton Park’s 60th anniversary.
Securing a respectable 11th on the starting grid – second in his class – the Alfa Romeo driver gained one place to finish 10th in the race.
However, after passing the retired race leader, Trotter achieved his goal of becoming the fastest Alfa Romeo on the day by clocking the fastest lap in his class.
