ORGANISERS of the 20th annual Northwich Beer Festival are determined to make it easy for visitors to get to their new venue.

The festival has always been held at Northwich Memorial Hall but this year it is moving to Winnington Park Recreation Club, in Park Road, while the hall is demolished to make way for a new lifestyle and cultural centre.

The Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal, which organises the annual fundraiser, has arranged for transport from Northwich town centre to Winnington Rec throughout the two-day event.

Steve Wheat, from the club and this year’s vice chairman of the festival committee, said: “We’re delighted to be working with one of our sponsors, Whitegate Travel, to make it easier for people to get from the centre of Northwich to the new venue at Winnington Rec.

“We aim to offer a service from the memorial hall to Winnington Rec and return throughout the opening hours of the festival.

“In addition to Whitegate Travel sponsors this year include Moss and Hazelhurst and for the second year running U Lock it and Rojac.”

The committee is still looking for individuals and companies to sponsor barrels of beer at the festival, which costs £90 per barrel.

Beer festival sessions will be held from 5pm on Friday, September 20, from noon until 4pm and from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday, September 21.

Tickets are on sale at Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Tourist Information Centre, Jack Gee Cycles, in Witton Street, Brew 2 Bottle, in London Road, or at Winnington Park Rec, in Park Road.

They will also be on sale at a stall in Northwich town centre on Saturday, September 7, and and Saturday, September 14.
