A CLAIRVOYANT medium made it through to the finals of The People’s Book Prize.

Alison Wynne Ryder, who co-hosted TV show Rescue Mediums alongside fellow clairvoyant medium Jackie Dennison, published her book The Quirky Medium at the beginning of the year.

It details her life story and explains how she brings spiritual guidance to others, despite her own fears of the paranormal.

She said: “Being new to writing, I was a little apprehensive about how the book would be received.

“Within it, I talk about some very personal aspects of my life and how I was guided towards helping others, which was therefore sometimes difficult to write.

“Happily, I’ve been overwhelmed with positive response and being nominated as a finalist for The People’s Prize was the icing on the cake”.

The awards ceremony was held in The Stationers’ Hall in London and although Alison narrowly missed walking away with the prize for best non-fiction title, she is upbeat and philosophical about her experience.

“I had such a wonderful evening and the warm reception I’ve received since the book has been published is worth more than any prize”, she said.
