THE Harlequin Players will be staging ‘Her Naked Skin’ from today, Wednesday at the Harlequin Theatre in Northwich.

Written by Rebecca Lenckiewicz, the play tells the story of the Suffragette Movement in Great Britain.

Set in London in 1913, the play opens with the tragedy of Emily Wilding Davison, a real-life suffragette who made headlines when she stepped in front of the King’s horse during the Epsom Derby.

“This is an important play on so many levels,” said director Gordon Hamlin.

“While it is set in 1913, a major turning point in British history, it shows the dilemma of three women as they search for freedom. Not only the freedom to vote, but the freedom to make choices – choices of their own.”

Her Naked Skin runs from February 20 to February 23 at 7.45pm.

Tickets are available now online at harlequinplayers.co.uk, by calling 01606 288828 and in person at Northwich Tourist Information Centre.
