A PSYCHIC medium has opened a shop in Northwich with help from five little witches.

Ghostbumps in Witton Street opened last Saturday and owner Christine Hamlett, 50, is selling Northwitches - little witch figures on broomsticks - who live dotted around the town carrying out their mystical deeds.

Winnie Witton' lives in the attic of the Penny Black pub in Witton Street, while Annie Applemarket' lives underneath the roof of Northwich Market.

Hattie Hadfield' calls the cellar of Northwich Library her home while Tillie Timberlane' lives in a church cript and Bessie Bullring' has a small house under the swing bridge.

Christine said: "The idea of the five witches came to me at when I was looking at a top floor window of the Penny Black pub and I just thought to myself, maybe a little witch could live there,' and I went away and got to work."

She has also just finished writing a children's book about the mystical characters which she now hopes to get published.

Ghostbumps occupies space in the back of the Nail Lounge and sells an array of goods from crystal balls and Egyptian statues to books on mediumship and meditation CDs.

In a bid to help the fundraising effort for cancer sufferer Jacob Marsland, Christine is donating a percentage of the sales of Northwitches to the Jacob Marsland Appeal.

She is also selling meditation CDs by Robbie Wright to raise money for the poorly six-year-old from Kingsmead.
